Teeth whitening is a purely cosmetic dental procedure. As the name suggests, it is the process of removing the stains from the teeth surfaces to make them look whiter, giving you a more confident and pleasing smile. It is a non-invasive procedure as the structure or contour of the teeth will not be altered due to it. Teeth whitening is quite affordable, making it one of the most sought-after dental procedures to improve the appearance of the teeth.
Thanks to the advancements in dental technology, different types of teeth whitening have been introduced in recent years. Based on the procedure involved, teeth whitening can be distinguished as follows:
Conventional teeth whitening: Traditional whitening is one of the most commonly preferred procedures and quite a simple one as well. A well-trained dentist performs it in a dental practice. The dentist will visually examine your teeth and determine the severity of staining. Based on the observations and a few other factors, such as the presence of cavities, cracks, chipping, oral restorations, gum diseases, etc., your candidacy for teeth whitening will be determined. A whitening gel rich in Hydrogen Peroxide is applied on the teeth, spread evenly, and allowed to stay on the teeth for a few minutes. The gel liberates oxygen molecules, which bleach the staining particles by penetrating the porous structure of the teeth. The gel will be rinsed off, and the procedure may be repeated multiple times, depending on the extent of discoloration.
Take-home whitening kits: You may have come across ‘whiten-at-home’ kits in the market. The drawback of using them is the adverse effect they can have on the soft tissues of the mouth. Hence, we provide customized teeth whitening trays and a highly-effective whitening gel, which you can use at home. The procedure is quite simple. Clean your teeth thoroughly, squeeze a small amount of whitening gel into the trays, and place them on your teeth. After allowing them to stay for a few minutes, you can take the trays off and rinse. Depending on the level of whitening you prefer, you can repeat the procedure multiple times.
In-office teeth whitening:In-office teeth whitening involves the use of a special whitening gel that contains highly potent hydrogen peroxide applied to your teeth. The gel is then activated by a dental light that penetrates the enamel and dentin. The gel is then rinsed off after keeping it for about twenty minutes. The procedure is repeated till the desired whitening results are achieved. The treatment removes stains and discoloration and results in a bright smile. An in-office teeth whitening treatment takes about one hour, and you may see results immediately.
Sinsational Smile is an advanced teeth whitening system, which is one of the best at the moment. It uses a pre-filled silicone tray technology, which allows the patient to keep their jaw relaxed during the procedure. The use of an LED accelerating light helps to speed up the process and provide results that last longer.
